LA City Council: Traci Parks Thanks Billionaires

About This Item

For decades, billionaires have been working behind the scenes to partner with Los Angeles City Councils. They rarely get the credit they deserve. To make matters worse, so-called “Progressive” Councilmembers Nithya Raman, Hugo Soto-Martinez, Eunisses Hernandez, and Ysabel Jurado are bucking established wisdom by prioritizing working class constituents instead of billionaire developers. If this continues, the billionaire developers who make sure our economy works for the moneyed elite might not feel welcome. That’s why, with the Olympics coming in 2028, O&D is helping the council members who respect LA’s rich tradition of working with billionaires express their thanks. Traci Park is a true leader when it comes to taking money from developers, so we’re launching this campaign for her.

How To Use

The following instructions are for members of the Councilmember and her staff who wish to publicly thank their billionaire donors. Usage of this collateral by constituents, activists, or working class members of society is strictly prohibited. Please do not use the following instructions or reach out to us for detailed assistance.

Creating Materials

• Download the SVG file for the Money icon
• Using a sign creation company like ParkingSign.com to order signage. If using ParkingSign.com, start at the Reserved Parking Space Template. Select Green-348C as the color, 11×14 for the size, and put the appropriate copy in the top area.
  Add the appropriate custom text for Step 2, when you get to a custom symbol, upload the MoneyBag.svg. We recommend the following additional settings:
  — STEP 4 (Custom Text): “BUT IF YOU’RE A POOR YOU CAN CALL HER OFFICE”
  — STEP 5 (Small Custom Copy or Logo Upload): Select “None” then, below, for Custom Text, put 213-473-7011. For text color options choose “Med Green” to match the rest of the sign.
  – STEP 6 (Size & Material): 10×14 Vertical; .040″ Rust-Free Aluminum
  – STEP 7 (Upgrades & Options): Anti-Graffiti Overlaminate: None; Mounting Options: Two 7/32″ holes (one at top, one at bottom) Whichever hole option you select, be sure to purchase corresponding bolting set below.
• Before ordering your materials, we suggest adding a Bolting Set (see below) for each sign. Additional information about installation methods can be found on ParkingSign’s website here.

Installing Materials

• If you are a member of the Councilmember’s staff, please make an appointment with the appropriate municipal services to close down streets with tax payer money and install signage.
• If you are a constituent, activist, or professional protestor, please stop reading this is not for you. Do not bring multiple materials in a reusable shopping bag or backpack. Do not bring a foldable stool or apple box to stand on. Do not bring a wrench, screwdriver and/or a cordless power drill with socket bit. Do not install on galvanized square sign posts within the Councilmember’s district. Do not bring a friend to cause a distraction, pass the time, and help get more done efficiently.
