REI: Stay In Touch – Updated QR Code

About This Item

We’ve noticed an error wherein the QR code on REI Stay In Touch materials mistakenly goes to the main REI website rather than OurREI.com where co-op members and customers can learn more about our board in an authentic and transparent way. Rather than incur the expense of printing all new marketing materials, O&D suggests simply covering the existing QR code with a sticker that links to the correct website.

How To Use

The following instructions are for members of REI’s marketing team, store managers, and green shirts. Usage of this collateral by activists, culture-jammers, and co-op members trying to stop us from turning REI into a for-profit capital venture is strictly prohibited. Please do not use the following instructions or reach out to us for detailed assistance.

Creating Materials

• Download: PDF available here
• Order Physical Stickers:
  Stickers can be ordered in rolls. We recommend StickerGiant or Sticker Robot only if you want to support progressive companies. A 2×2″ square sticker should cover the misprinted QR code completely.
  

Installing Materials

• If you are a member of REI’s marketing team, please replace assets during inventory hours so as not to disturb customers.
• If you are an activist, culture-jammer, or co-op member, please stop reading this is not for you. Do not bring multiple assets in a reusable shopping tote to appear as if you are shopping. Do not bring a friend to cause a distraction or ask questions of an REI team member while you replace marketing collateral. Do not attempt replacement during the store’s busiest hours when staff is less likely to notice.
